Case Management:
A case manager or supervisor is assigned to the customer when a referral is made and will contact the customer as soon as possible to verify instructions. , and their duties include:
- Contacting all of the parties involved after each scheduled appointment.
- Continually assessing the customer’s ability to reach MMI and return to work.
- Adhering to any time frames designated for state fee schedules.
- Identifying all hindrances the customer may have in reaching a resolution.
- Establishing plans of action which will provide professional choices designed to overcome barriers.
- Providing faultless integration of treatments recommended and necessary activities for file.
- Establishing appropriate time frames for recovery using established procedures for treatment.
- Keeping all of the parties well-informed of changes significant to the case.
- Clearly defining any areas of savings the customer may be entitled to.
Reports and Correspondence
In the area of correspondence, a case manager’s duties include:
- Ensuring prompt reporting
- Making certain that each report gives accurate details, reflects appropriate actions taken, and outlines a plan with a workable time frame.
- Composes comprehensive, yet brief reports.
Supervisory Responsibility
In each case, a supervisor’s responsibilities include:
- Providing continual discussions with case managers concerning outcomes and file activities.
- Providing continual training and counseling to maintain a successful case management process.
